Once again… stuff and things

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

O hi, Christmas commercials already? Well, I’m not complaining. :P
Speaking of which, I should probably pick a Snowscheme or go to a simple environmental engaging place and do some lake topography art… I’m leaning towards “Numair’s Cookie House” since while I was sorting books, there were a couple about Christmas decorations and… Christmas baking. >_> And here I thought it was dangerous for me to sort Children’s because I would get distracted by old stuff I read as a kid.

Also… little Snowflake (puppy #4 for those who are keeping track) had surgery today to correct Cherry Eye and also to get spayed. Except for some reason the office decided to close an hour earlier than they’re supposed to. Helloooooooo Raging Drama Queen mode. -.- I don’t get why I’m being yelled at because the vet office staff decided to shove off earlier (and they called me, like, 10 minutes before I got off volunteer service). But I was able to defuse most of it by buying dinner. >_>;;;
Need to pick up the puppy tomorrow morning…

…tomorrow…

…oh, right, Fontana DMV tomorrow. If either I screw up, or I get slapped by a technicality… I’m pretty much screwed until January, due to how much the appontment server is made of FAIL and gets clogged all too easily. And I’ll most likely have to drop volunteer service, since I’m what’s keeping mother from finding work, it seems…
No pressure, right? >_>;

I just kinda feel… I dunno, a bit of resignation, that despite best efforts something can and WILL go wrong tomorrow. This whole process has been debilitating on my self-confidence as a whole (moreso from being slapped with technicalities as opposed to screw-ups on my part). It’s not that I don’t want to get my license– seriously, I really need this because with Bren gone until, what, June and my mother being a Raging Drama Queen about anything relating to siblings and having practically no RL friends that I could reliably poke, it’d be a drastic understatement to say that any prospects of doing anything even remotely fun is NIL. And being stuck here with Evil Stepfather and the Four Wiggly Puppies of the Apocalypse will nuke ANYONE’s sanity. No. DO NOT WANT. Must get out, even if it’s just during the day. ARGH.

I still need to take my laptop in to have her monitor lid checked out… red snow and distorted colors at most angles is creepy. If this is indeed the strike 3 that triggers an exchange under the service plan, that effectively translates to a free upgrade… but if not, well, I’ll just use the opportunity to trade in for Dinah 2.0* and request as much reimbursement as I can get as my Christmas loot.

Ow my wallet

I’ll say it now, anyone who claims I don’t know the value of money can go jump in a lake.

So… PETS ARE EXPENSIVE. Well, I knew that going in, of course… and I think mother FORGOT that, since it seems my assuming all the vet and insurance expenses was really what enabled her to go expanding the pet population as much as she did.

The English puppies went in for their first screening/vaccine wave today. Also, this month’s bill for pet insurance hit. And then I had to enroll the English puppies on the pet insurance policy. Total for all of that stuff put together… nearly $530. Ow.

BUT, as I said earlier, I don’t let mother go free… she has to reimburse me too. And she also has to pay back all the vet fees incurred until the policy kicks in. (Ah, Wells Fargo customer-to-customer transfers. LOVE.) I’m getting $500 of today’s total bill back. The remaining 30 is for Kestine’s part of the insurance, which I eat because, well, he’s my cat, so while I certainly could be mean and make mother reimburse me for that too, it’d be just a TAD excessive to do it. :P

True, 500 is chump change compared to the $8k total that mother plunked on getting all four dogs, but still… while keeping my bank account from springing a gigantic leak is nice, I think it’s the satisfaction of telling mother “PAY UP, WOMAN” that’s the best part.

okay maybe not in those exact words, but you get the idea.

I’m SO evil. :P

We can’t stop here, it’s… Bulldog Country?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

If I had any consistent sense of smell, I’d say my house has totally gone to the dogs.

Not one, but TWO English Bulldog puppies have entered the brawl.
TWO.
What the crap?

We don’t even have a kitchen table anymore. Now it’s been converted to puppy daycare. Sheesh, this has LONG crossed the “excessive” line.

But, I give up on the whole “is mother going to be able to take care of them all?” thing. Aside from Kestine, everyone else is HER problem as far as day-to-day stuff goes.

Yeah, the question of upped insurance premiums got raised. She’s going to fully reimburse me for the vet fees until the insurance policies kick in, and her monthly contribution to the premium’s getting boosted to somewhere around $200 (probably a little higher, I haven’t added Wilson and Snowflake yet since I’m at the library right now). So, at least the added expense won’t spring a gigantic leak in my bank account.

I really hope these are the last additions, though… Mother said that Toby would be the last one, but obviously went back on her word.

If only finding work wasn’t such a giant pain… hopefully next week I may be able to better work on fixing THAT detail, then eventually I can get out of here and into a living environment in which it’s just me and my big orange fluffball. -.-

Time to pack up Dinah, it’s almost time for me to clock in.

In the absence of logic, I blame Aeth.

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Bah! Just when I’m about to post an updated screencap of that second Halloween picture, my server crashes. Can still access FTP and mail… just attempting anything on the browser end is broken (error code: Aeth– I mean 500). Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow, it’ll be fixed. >_>;;

One week until Election Day… or rather, “Yoshi hopefully kicks the crap out of the DMV and will eat some pie if she does.” (TWO pieces of pie if Obama wins! :P)

But, tomorrow? Chaos in the form of another new arrival of the canine variety, an English Bulldog pup by the name of Wilson (as in, the unseen neighbor). Yeah, I know… ANOTHER?! But, it’s not my call (only Kestine was), I just pay the vet and insurance fees. In hindsight, if I’d known picking up on those two were the primary enablers for mother to expand the pet population here as much as she did, I probably would have either refused or capped it at only covering the cats…

Time for sleep, before I go drifting over to Across Universe and stay up until dawn fiddling with stuff there…

Would you believe it…

Oh hi.
Seems my mother has a YouTube account. o.O

Well, if you want to see the two wiggly devil puppies that chew on my toes on a daily basis, knock yourselves out. But… if anyone asks, I never said anything.

ANYTHING.

>_>;;;

Why yes, I’m totally bored just sitting here while stuff copies over (since it would equal LAAAAAG if I were to go log into CoH). Well, I could go get my PSP and play Star Ocean while waiting… but… so lazy… and the PSP is charging anyway.

OH HI, ambushed by a big orange kitty. My table’s going to freaking vibrate from Kestine’s purring. I love this cat so freaking much. XD
