The end (of Headfog) is near

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

I finally was able to get an appointment with my doctor so I can reload my Synthroid. YES. I must have gotten one of the other doctors’ receptionists because holy crap she picked up and booked me right away. o_o

The downside? The awesome doctor… is on vacation until the 25th. Gah… was kinda hoping to have this resolved this week (because I don’t really want to be going out and about until I can get my synthroid back in rotation), but at this point I’ve no room to be picky. Hell, I’ve gone a couple months without synthroid, I can wait a couple more weeks through this headfog of doom.

I’ll have to summon Robert though, but he’ll do anything I want transportation-wise as long as I give him 24h notice. :P

All that said… today is Pizza Wednesday. I have a free 2-sammich credit via Dominos as a result from their system belch, but I haven’t had Papa Johns in awhile, either.

Celestial Thorn, the iPhone

Did I say how much I love love LOVE my Verizon iPhone?

Because I do. I mean, my LG enV was awesome for the 3-ish years I had it, but I was really glad Verizon got the iPhone when it did because my battery had gone to crap.

For one thing, which turned out to be my greatest annoyance from my old phone: no more having to worry about running out of room for incoming TXT/MMS messages, EVER. YES! As far as I know, the concept of the message inbox has been done away with entirely in favor of threading by contacts in something like iChat (AIM for Mac). On previous phones, I kept having to clean out my message inbox, which means I’d end up losing TXTs I’d wanted to keep. It wasn’t so bad for picture/video since I could save those out to the SD card, but since everything is saved on the iPhone’s giant hard drive (relative to… whatever piddly storage was on old feature and semi-feature phones), I can hold as many messages as I want henceforth. YAY!

I need to find out how mother’s inserting extra icons into her messages (she’s using cheeseburger and dollar sign and other icons). I’m thinking it’s probably a different app than the normal version. As much as I facepalm at her spamminess, those icons are cute and rather unobtrusive…

I haven’t played around too much with the camera, aside from a single shot of Kestine. This will almost certainly change in the near-future. For one thing, no more having to send pic-tweets as MMS, now I can upload directly to TwitPic via TweetDeck, with video-tweets going to YouTube. :P As for future camera abuse… let’s just say that I’m going to need to address this “buh I talk funny and I don’t like the sound of my own voice” and possibly have to correct this by force… and possibly your great amusement. Stay tuned.

In other news, I’m totally getting a heart-shaped Papa Johns pizza today. Tried to get one a few days ago but for some reason I got locked out of online ordering. I’d like to think I’ll, uh, compensate for this and yesterday’s Jack in the Box by following Kestine and other kitties around with my iPhone. >_>;

WTF Birds

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

My iPod Touch is mostly for Twitter and some light browsing, but it’s a pretty potent little gamer, too. But I’m rather stingy about what I spend on at the App Store– if I have to pay, it’d better be something I’ll play more than once, even if it’s only a buck.

Enter Angry Birds.

Often plugged to high hell and given plenty of free advertising on TWiT, Angry Birds is pretty much as it looks– a bunch of pissed-off birds getting revenge on evil pigs who looted their eggs. You fling birds off a giant slingshot (new bird types are unlocked as you progress and yes, one of them is pretty much a Prinny/Bob-Omb). If you’ve ever played Yoshi Touch & Go, the concept is not THAT different– still pretty reliant on trajectories and a bit of back-yard physics.

All that for $1. Ya rly. There’s a Halloween-themed “expansion” out (it’s as much as an expansion as City of Villains was to City of Heroes, e.g. it’s NOT), which is also $1… and you get craploads of levels regardless of which version you pick.

If you’re not packing an iOS-based device (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad) or an Android-based phone, you aren’t entirely out of luck. There’s a PC version of some sort in the works; whether it’s flash-based or otherwise is unknown. I would totally love to play it on Yggdrasil and his sexy HDTV monitor.
It’s also in the pipeline for the Playstation Store (and thus usable on either the PS3 or PSP). I heard there may be a Wii/DS version– and really, it would be PERFECT for those– but nothing’s been officially announced on that side yet.

You know what would be fun, though? Rovio needs to license the Angry Birds format out and see what happens. I’d definitely like to see what NIS would do with it. “Angry Prinnies,” anyone? Take it a step further and replace the slingshot with Etna holding a Prinny-sized grenade launcher. >:D

Pizza Wednesday, as usual! Only firing for one because everyone else is out for the day, so party hard! Bwahahahaha.
I have a free pizza credit at Papa Johns since I’ve piled up enough points, but I prefer to save those for when I order for the house. Therefore, Pizza Hut gets my money today.

(Instant Ramen Sketchbook) Party For Me ~Lowenthal Version~

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I salute my fangirl shorts, internet! Not only is this gift art for the man for his birthday, but this was also an excuse to let my fandom fly considering that they are all either my favorite lead characters or damned near close to it. (In the case of Alex and Cecil, they were even among my favorites before being made moreso by the LOL-enthal. :P) Why else would I call this Party For Me? XD

My favorite part about this, though… FACE-PULLING. You know Luke and Asch would have totally been making with the face-pulling and lots of yelling. XD; Also I’m still stupidly fixated on Luke’s Berserker costume title so I had to use it here. It’s just that awesome. :(

I was going to stick Haseo in Xth form but Asch’s armor was already stupidly detailed and Haseo’s Xth form outfit is even moreso and by the time I got to that point during the line art I was all “screw that, I’m just doing first form, it’s the lesser of four evils.” That and it’s Haseo’s most recognizable form anyway, so…

Alex and Cecil = BROS FOREVER. “Dood next door” heroes represent! :D

Yeah, this has been tweeted out. I await the fallout of lulz that will ensue… because I just couldn’t leave well enough alone after that Pancakealypse thing. In the meantime, I junk out on Lunar.
