Now that’s just mean

by Yoshi on Jan.20, 2010 | ITP:

WTF Earth. I know it’s in your nature to bump and grind, but seriously, WTF 6.0 quake? It’s barely been a week since the first one, leave Haiti alone already.

(Twitter exploded, no doubt as a result of this.)

Also, speaking of “WTF Nature,” what the hell was that yesterday, trying to throw a tornado at SoCal? And dropping lightning near my house? Well, at least you didn’t, like, flatten Gordon Tokumatsu (local weather-dood) with a Marilyn Monroe billboard, or wipe out the Hollywood sign, then I’d have to call this a bad attempt at pulling a Day after Tomorrow and I don’t think Roland Emmerich would be too pleased with that.

I don’t even think my weather widget knows how to read tornadoes, I’m getting lightning bolt icons across the board here. o_O;

Re: Hurricane Rick

Tell me I’m not the only one who thought of this when I first heard about it. SERIOUSLY, INTERNET. WTF?

Well, it’s possible that a similar version surfaced in /b/ but I don’t wander there.

Iggy the Robo-Fusoya gets built on Thursday (assuming Best Buy starts shipping out Win7 preorders early so they’ll arrive on the 22nd… wouldn’t put it past them to do that!). I’m SO breaking my usual “1 pizza/week” limit for the occasion >_>;

The movie that will give you the munchies

by Yoshi on Sep.18, 2009 | ITP: , , ,

Fellow foodies beware (or rejoice!): Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs hits theaters today. I remember reading the book as a kid, though judging by the trailers it seems the movie is more of a half-prequel. Seeing as the original book was much more concept than an actual story, I don’t see the harm in such a re-imagining. :P Also the disaster movie nerd in me is very much intrigued by the mentions of parodies of disaster flicks. :D Squee!

I’m actually surprised that Sony’s marketing department didn’t attempt some crazy promotional campaign with restaurant chains. I mean… come on, you KNOW with a movie like this, people are going to pile into restaurants afterwards. One can almost see dollar signs floating over the likes of Old Spaghetti Factory and IHOP. XD (However, Sony DOES have an ad for the Feeding America’s Hunger Helper campaign on the movie’s website.)

If rampant food imagery and disaster movie homages aren’t your thing, maybe this is: Mr. T has a bit part in it. Just saying.

I should see if I can wrench mother away from the evil bulldogs for movie+IHOP raid… either tonight or tomorrow. (This might be a BIT difficult since stupid weather has decided to get its lulz on and crank the temperature up to… WTF?! 102F?!)
Failing that, well, at the very least some Papa Johns minion will be throwing a pizza pie in my face.

(LJ Edition: Flonne’s OMG icon accurately reflects the mood of my inner disaster movie fangirl.)

Angry Wind Elementals

by Yoshi on Jun.03, 2009 | ITP: ,

Thunder and lightning here in Fontana today. Needless to say this has caused much Cacophony of WOOF… and set off random car alarms. And sometimes, for a few minutes, it’ll actually rain.

Epic thunder is freaking epic… sounding… and such. And here comes Kestine… I thought that– holy shit that was a huge lightning bolt. XD!

I swear it’s like someone’s casting Indignation on my city. XD

But, alas… time to chase down food. Well, not after I get in some kitty zen via this big orange furball on my bed. Hee~

As much as I like cold weather…

by Yoshi on Feb.17, 2009 | ITP: , ,

…I often forget that at its worst, California winters makes my right hand miserable, MORESO when drawing for extended periods as I’ve done today. x_x In these cases, my left hand can stay not-freezing if hidden under my cloak (or even better, on my person… one of the few perks of being tubby mctubberson) but my right hand’s exposed and on a cold surface. BRR is an understatement. Where is Kestine when I need him? One of the perks to having a cat is that they’re self-powered hand-warmers, and he’s probably watching TV downstairs, that silly cat. (Though… it is not so cold downstairs.)

Not only was I not able to smuggle Synergy out because at the last minute mother decided not to go out for the day like she was going to, but because of puppies running amok I couldn’t even fiddle with her uncooperative third box. So, scribbling crap upstairs for me. Nothing Ramen-worthy (yet), this is just layouts and such for RT, but they did score big with Aeth, Neo and Typh, so yay. (Moral of story: using Chelsea as a dummy character makes Aeth more likely to greenlight stuff.)

Assuming I’m not preempted tomorrow… library service = yay get me away from these Pups of the Apocalypse. With the heater not working consistently, though (it only turns on for less than a minute), TOTALLY not looking forward to showering in the morning. I don’t handle sudden temperature shifts very well, I found that out when I first built Synergy and kept switching between the heated House Cantlay and my freezer of a house, and ended up with a nasty headcold that nearly kept me from going to my Portfolio final.

I wonder what’s going on with Dinah though… probably got shipped off to HP/Compaq since they’d have the parts to fix her red snow.

Oh hi, Yoshi Day in a month and a half? But, aside from just the blessing to go to Colorado for long-awaited Neo-pestering (money is a non-issue… I just want the guarantee that mother will not turn into a raging drama queen over it, and pigs will probably fly before that ever happens), there isn’t anything significant I’d want. Well, aside from my license. But with lol puppies, that seems a bleak prospect too. Maybe I should just settle for tasty food.

Argh, mind wants to continue drawing but hands are “TOO COLD LET’S RETREAT FOR NOW.” x.x

The Magic Coin Block!

Like the sass and awesome and artwork and other happy things you see on Ayarane Project? Consider tossing a few coins into Yoshi's Magic Coin Block and contribute to the cool. Even better: if you put in 20 coins, you get credit towards a Gourmet Ramen piece! This is cumulative-- you can donate smaller amounts in different instances but have it add up-- and scales to the same parameters as Gourmet Ramen commissions.

Of course, if you want to just buy a Gourmet Ramen commission outright, that's fine too! :)
