Touchy-feely portable ramen

Monday, November 30th, 2009

…Remember how I made a crack about what would happen if Corel ported Painter to the iPhone or someone pulls something similar? >_>

‘sup, Sketchbook Mobile. Holy crap. Natural media emulation, layers (even 3 is awesome) and support for WIP-saving and exporting PSDs? DO WANT, MUST HAAAAVE. O_O I mean, crap, this might as well be “Painter for iPhone!”

Oh yes. This goes on the insta-loot list when my Touch gets here. So, even when I’m out, I can still get my Ramen on. Bwahahahaha!

Also I’m thinking I should probably obtain or rig a stylus of some kind since I have these big stubby fingers that probably won’t take too well to this. Wonder if the DS stylus would work in the meantime…? >_>;

(Instant Ramen Sketchbook) Snowscheme 2009 Part 2: Mistle-Omb

Monday, November 30th, 2009

To kiss under mistletoe at Christmas is romantic.
To kiss under Mistle-ombs is… explosive.

Denlan is relentless… even if he should claim every other eligible lady in Across, Hikaru would forever be beyond his reach, having already chosen.
Ordinarily Numair would simply punish Denlan’s interference by setting his head on fire, but sometimes this kind of flagrant infringment calls for more… appropriate measures.

…measures like strategic placement of Mistle-ombs– Bob-Ombs that mimic mistletoe.

Fun is too much to contain

Add another item to the list of “too awesome to wait it out over.”
Mother is all “by the way, you WILL loot that iPod Touch as soon as it gets here, you’d be insane to wait to use something that fun.”

…XD;

I was going to tell her that it doesn’t matter if I take ownership now or on the 25th since unless the thing comes with an iTunes card or 60 coins suddenly appear in the Magic Coin Block, I won’t be able to load up on ALL the paid apps I was eyeing until I reload. (Trillian, yes, because it’s only $5) I also realize I need to code a static, iPod Touch-friendly version of my Altima Network Remote Dashboard (and if you are interested, you can fiddle with its incomplete-for-the-moment Flash version here) and potentially Ayarane Project, too. I’m pretty sure the iPod Touch’s browser probably won’t take kindly to the AP version with its columns and such, har har har. Though I do hear that its browser is MUCH better than the one on the PSP.

I don’t know where this thing’s shipping from, so I’m just going to assume that Tuesday is the earliest it could get here.. probably longer, though, because mother had it engraved with the best laser engraver from this review of Boss Laser online. :P
And because I KNOW someone is going to ask… I consider things like my phone (and I guess this iPod Touch) to be extensions of Dinah, so I guess it would be appropriate to name it after a ninja weapon, and cut a Dinah wallpaper.

…oh hi, Costco pizza. Omnomnomnom. :O~

Wait… I know why mother wants me to take the Touch right away– EARBUDS! She burns through those things like crazy! Well, she can have them, I hate earbuds and Bluetooth headphones are so much better!

Trolling for Peanuts

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

So I went downstairs to get food and while on standby, I watched A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Now, I like Peanuts as much as the next guy but like a lot of things I saw as a kid, it was a completely different experience to revisit it as an adult.

Let me preface with this: Compared to the TV series and specials, the movies are quite a bit more SERIOUS BUSINESS and this one was all kinds of f’d up. It is often said that Snoopy, Come Home is the most depressing of the movies… hell no! That one had a happy ending, this was more or less the Peanuts version of End of Evangelion!

Really, this one was 90-ish minutes of just about EVERYONE trolling poor Charlie Brown (and that eventually includes Linus… and he’s supposed to be the dude’s BFF?!), and this is on top of his own self-loathing and depression. They suddenly become nice to him when he starts doing things right and then turn on him when the pressure becomes too much and he bombs the last word at the Radio City finals… wow. One must wonder how much worse the fallout would be if this played out today. Lucy would totally be at home among the /b/-tards. >:P

(Actually, weren’t there honest-to-god research papers and stuff written to that effect? I know there was one analysis done that says that Schroeder is most likely gay. I’m pretty sure that was mentioned on MetaFilter quite awhile back…)

And the takeaway message from everything that happened is “okay, the world didn’t end… but you’re going to fail all over again tomorrow, sucker!”

“Way to overthink it, Yoshi,” you might be thinking. And I may very well be. But give it a spin if you haven’t seen it for awhile. All the stupidly-amusing sequences involving Snoopy aside, you’ll probably find yourself doing a bit of double-takes, too!

I nodded off on the couch and it’s too late now to boot up Blastoise.

Letters to random things (mostly inanimate objects)

because I am bored. Woohoo!

Dear sun: Stop playing peekaboo and make up your mind already. It’s distracting >_>;

Dear glasses: Stop falling off when I bend over to pick up my laser mouse that Kestine keeps batting off the bed.

Dear Dinah: Why are you so quick to jump to 100% CPU usage and thus maximum fan speed? WTF. (side note: do not let her hit 160F, that would be her “death” temp)

Dear Yggdrasil: Why can’t I crank your text size up to 150%? :( Yet I can do it on Blastoise and Dinah, what the hell….

Dear bed: Please stop trying to kill me, I’d rather sleep on you than this creaky-ass chair.

Dear splinter or toenail that I stepped on and got embedded in my heel: Hurry up and break down already, it stings :(

Dear router: Why do you keep dropping wireless radio? Dropping wifi but leaving ethernet alone = NOT AMUSED.

Dear self: Stop freaking out about… that. You know what I’m talking about. You know they mean well but are comple– ooh, a kitty!

I THINK we’re going to see 2012 today. Though with the rain this morning and such, that might have thrown things off. Hm.
Until I wake up completely and figure out which Snowscheme to do next, I’m going to wrap up in these blankets and wach the TWiT live stream for awhile. >_>;

Brr. Again.
