A mansion-sized property located in La Noscea’s Mist residential district, and serves as both Hikaru‘s personal residence and as a base of operation for her party.
She originally obtained the land as a company perk when hired, with the presumption that over time, Hikaru would earn enough to commission the construction of a house. To her employer’s surprise, Hikaru had more than enough experience with carpentry and related tradeskills to design and physically construct the home itself, with occasional consultation with Gridania’s carpentry guild. Additionally, Hikaru assembled nearly every piece of furniture, again owing to her experience with having apprenticed for or worked part time at a number of workshops while wandering Outer Gyr Abania.
Upon completion of the rather large residence in Heavensward postgame, Hikaru realized she may have built a bit too much house for one person to occupy, with several more rooms than she could possibly have use of. Even if she were to designate one of the extra rooms as a workshop, she still had many others that she struggled to come up with a purpose for.
This problem would correct itself over time as she accumulated allies, some of whom often had literally nowhere else to go. As many of her party members were neither Scions nor fellow employees of Skywind Company, it made more sense for Hikaru to offer up “House Dragonia” (a name bestowed by Phil) as the de facto home base, somewhere to gather to discuss upcoming operations or, really, just as a “third place” for everyone to spend time together.
Rather than employ maidservants or other stewards, Hikaru instead deployed several repurposed Allagan custodian nodes that she found and repaired. The decision to do so was not made from a place of wanting to save money, but more like Hikaru thought having a crew of hired assistants waiting on her hand and foot would be outright bizarre, and a fleet of automata felt significantly less unnerving. And considering her party members and other acquaintances had her blessing to come and go freely, Hikaru decided she could do without the additional foot traffic that would come with a full-time waitstaff.
That said, Allagan drones cannot prepare meals, and thus Hikaru initially assumed cooking duties. In doing so, she was forced to expand both her skill and repertoire of dishes compared to having to make do on the road. In Shadowbringers postgame, Valkyrja and Mogbert began rotating in to help share the load, though admittedly this was a byproduct of the former’s experimentation in breakfast foods. In Endwalker postgame, Rei would often come over unannounced to cook and do other housework as part of her long-term plan to get to know the daughter she had been separated from for over 16 years.
House Dragonia served as the reception venue for Yoshi and Kupo’s wedding in “You Are Invited,” during Stormblood Patch 4.1. In Endwalker Patch 6.3’s “Thirty One Stars,” House Dragonia was the staging ground for Violetta’s Operation Brilliant Nameday, in which she organized a surprise party for Hikaru’s 31st birthday.
Outside, House Dragonia’s most prominent piece of decor is the Sephirot Tree. Hikaru obtained the sapling as a trophy during Heavensward postgame, when confronting the Fiend of the Warring Triad. Believing her front yard to be rather bare, Hikaru planted the sapling, which had been suspended in Sephirot’s crystallized sap. A tree of this size would normally take decades to grow, but because of the sap’s immeasurable aether reserves, the sapling rapidly grew in a number of weeks. Despite its origins, the Sephirot Tree is seemingly harmless and in fact a beneficial presence, its internal aether making its surrounding soil considerably more fertile than normal, and capable of sustaining itself with little outside water. The tree is also amazingly resilient, and despite being repeatedly set on fire by Trollbuncle or other means, never appears to burn or sustain any visible damage.
In Endwalker Patch 6.45, Hikaru allows Numair to install a maintenance dock on the front lawn for purposes of safely storing Cruise Chaser. It is a smaller version of the maintenance facilities at the Skysteel Manufactory’s warehouse and additionally replicates a similar maintenance dock aboard the Lunar Whale.
