In the Extended continuity, the Ishgard-1 Cycler is Numair‘s Machinist weapon. The gun is cobbled together from multiple disassembled firearms, with the majority of them being sourced from a Midan Metal Musketoon. The Cycler scales with Numair’s level, though unlike other scalable weapons such as Excalibur or Longinus, it is not because of spiritual attunement or other phenomena, but rather because Numair is continually tinkering with it.
Additionally, Numair brings multiple aetherotransformer packs with him in addition to the basic variant, as the Cycler does not have one permanently assigned and can swap between them based on the desired secondary effects and added element. The Spazer aetherotransformer is lightning-aspected and increases damage dealt with AoE abilities. The Cryogenic aetherotransformer is ice-aspected and changes Flamethrower to Rime Spray. The Caustic aetherotransformer is dark-aspected and grants all single-target weaponskills a chance to inflict additional damage over time, and the Arcane aetherotransformer is light-aspected, causing all damage to be magical and has any killing blow absorb the damage as recovered HP. All of the aetherotransformer packs can have materia melded into them, as it is not possible to meld materia into the Cycler itself. However, the materia would need to be replaced over time as Numair outlevels them.
The Cycler receives an upgrade between the events of Endwalker and Numair’s recruitment in Patch 6.4, though it only appears to mildly boost its base attack power. In Dawntrail, however, he integrates some parts from the Vanguard soldiers’ guns just before entering Origenics. Because of the use of electrope in the parts, Numair creates the Lasher Burst weaponskill, a magical counterpart to Drill.
