A Highlander Hyur from Outer Gyr Abania and the protagonist of the Extended continuity. The daughter of Ala Mhigan Resistance saboteurs Rei and Berold, Hikaru has no personal attachment to the cause, having been soured to any consideration of involvement as a young adolescent when rebel-hunters from the Garlean Empire invaded the shack that she and her mother had been staying in and snatching Rei during the night. Hikaru would spend over a decade wandering Outer Gyr Abania alone, taking on a number of odd jobs or part time employment to feed herself.
Five years after the Seventh Umbral Calamity, work opportunities were rapidly drying up. With the alternative being to sign on with the Resistance, Hikaru instead chose to leave Gyr Abania and seek employment elsewhere. Her plans were initially to head to nearby Gridania to look for work, but she fell asleep during the carriage ride and missed her stop, eventually arriving in Ul'dah. Though she was not fond of dry and hot places, Hikaru nonetheless resolved to make the best of her time there, signing on with the Gladiators' Guild.
Though born in Outer Gyr Abania, Hikaru has traits of both Ala Mhigan and Far Eastern-type Hyurs. She gets her hair color and hair volume from her father, but in terms of eye color, face shape, body type and proportions, she unmistakably takes after her mother. Her body is toned enough to convey a visible strength and hardiness, as typical for Highlanders, but still shapely and alluring.
In her Heavensward postgame story "The Dragon Inside," Hikaru's right eye turns yellow after it is pierced by a shard of corrupted aether. For a time, she acquires a form of aethersight, though it is far weaker compared to Y'shtola's. At the story's conclusion, it returns to normal because of the corrupted aether being cleansed.
Despite being on the front lines (and the leading tank), Hikaru's body is lacking in battle scars. Having someone capable of healing her in combat is especially useful that way, and she eventually learns how to use healing magicks on herself. That said, in Patch 6.5, she does acquire three scars as a result of her fighting Zeromus: one on her right shoulder, one under her left breast and a third on her upper left thigh. The scars are from when the greater voidsent pierced her and pinned her down, leaving behind a trace amount of their dark aether, and resist being cleansed through even the most aggressive healing spells. Though the voidsent's aether left behind is not enough to be toxic and will eventually be broken down over time, it causes Hikaru's scars to glow a faint purple when touched.
When bathing with the other women of the party in Kugane, Yoshi notes that Hikaru actually has the largest cup size among them.
On names, gender attachment and cultural norms

"Hikaru" ("to shine/sparkle") is a gender-neutral (but ofen male-coded) given name. In Endwalker postgame, Rei explains her reasoning behind choosing such a name: she did not know the gender of her then-unborn child, but was struggling to come up with suitable names. To spare herself the work of having to come up with separate male and female names, Rei shortlisted those that would be suitable for either. Her selection included those from both her cultural background (Far Eastern) and that of her husband (Ala Mhigan), but both she and Berold liked Hikaru.
It's often said that one grows into their name over time, and such applied to Hikaru, and in ways unexpected. While Rei may have had somewhat of a galaxy-brained moment in giving an appropriate name to someone who would eventually become the Warrior of Light, what she probably didn't predict how giving her child a neutral name would factor into Hikaru's eventual attitudes toward her gender as an adult.
While wandering Outer Gyr Abania alone, Hikaru discarded many of her feminine personality traits and adopted a less-gendered manner of dressing and presenting herself. Where she was painfully shy and anxious as a child, Hikaru's sudden change of circumstances forced her to harden quickly, as Gyr Abania is no place for the soft-hearted. To be a young woman traveling alone was especially risky, thus it was even more of an incentive to make herself less appealing to those who might do her harm because she was a woman. Even her voice deepened to a degree, taking on a more aggressive and stern tone. The one aspect of her femininity that Hikaru could not bring herself to leave behind was her long hair; she attempted a shorter hairstyle, but was so used to the weight of her hair on her back as a counterbalance that it proved to be immensely disorienting, and thus she chose to never cut it short again.
Though becoming the Warrior of Light afforded her a considerably more comfortable lifestyle and therefore less cause to be constantly vigilant for her safety, it did not mean Hikaru would revert to acting more feminine. If anything, it made her realize how little attachment she had to being perceived as a woman. At the same time, she did not view herself as being particularly manly, either; although she did prefer unisex or male clothes, it was more for utility reasons rather than gender expression.
Hikaru also lost much of her attachment to her Ala Mhigan background. Her experience with the Resistance through her mother turned her off to any further association with the movement, and as a byproduct, she distanced herself from Ala Mhigan and Highlander culture in general, focusing more on her own survival. In Stormblood, Lyse and other members of the Resistance are mildly dismayed at Hikaru's detached attitude, hearing that she is only assisting them because of her obligations as the Warrior of Light.
Part of this disconnect can be seen with Hikaru's aversion to sex and exposing her body; where wearing revealing clothing and being sexually assertive is usually seen as a show of power among Highlanders in the Extended continuity, Hikaru would sooner put on the heaviest, bulkiest armor she could find. Even after overcoming her phobia in "Twice Attempted," Hikaru is still less inclined to wear clothes that show off her body, only doing so when alone with Numair. The thought of wearing a dress is completely alien to her and out of the question, however; even when as a healer, the furthest Hikaru is willing to go is a skirt with leggings. Even when Rei attempted to get Hikaru to try on traditional Ala Mhigan clothes, Hikaru instead reached for the male outfit, refusing to put on a bright red folk dress. In "Thirty One Stars," Hikaru wears a close-fitting black pantsuit, perhaps the most blatantly-feminine outfit she owns.

In the news media-- at least, the outlets that choose to respect her privacy-- Hikaru is rarely referred to by third-person pronouns, and much of her activities are attributed to the Scions or her party as a whole. She has never been interviewed, having appointed Alphinaud and Yoshi to handle such tasks in her place. There are few press pictures of Hikaru in circulation; those that do exist very rarely show her face, or depict her from behind or at a distance, and she is always seen in full armor. Combined with her gender-neutral name, it is not entirely implausible that a less-informed member of the public might presume the Warrior of Light is actually a man, a mistake that Hikaru is inclined to forgive since it is unlikely to be made with malicious intent.
In Endwalker Patch 6.55, Wuk Lamat admits that when Erenville described Hikaru to her, she initially thought Hikaru was a man (as Erenville seldom used she/her to refer to Hikaru, either directly using her name or "Warrior of Light"). In Dawntrail, during the detour to the Nazou Estate, Numair's mother Numina also presumed that Hikaru was a man based on her name, struggling to fathom the possibility that the Warrior of Light might actually be a woman. Numina additionally runs afoul by falsely claiming Hikaru is a "desperate Ala Mhigan harlot" who seduced her way into Clan Nazou's treasure caches, unaware of Hikaru's disconnection from her cultural origins.
Perceptions of heroism
A recurring question is addressed numerous times during the Extended Main Scenario Quest and other side stories: "What does it mean to be a hero?"
Hikaru acknowledges that, at the very minimum, her personality and mannerisms are especially unheroic. She is abrasive, snarky and foul-mouthed, and is up-front about how she considers her allies more along the lines of "extra bodies" rather than true companions. Even Agrias is put off at first by Hikaru's tendency to swear profusely during battle, commenting that not even the brigands she routed in her time were as vulgar.
While Hikaru attempts to mask these facets of herself in her public interactions, it is a mask she loathes wearing, as she feels that being the amiable "smile and nod" heroic figure isn't reflective of her true self at all. It is a mask that she takes off around her party members and some others (like Alisaie) and ultimately discards partway through Endwalker, finding the stress of maintaining it too much and deciding to behave more authentically, consequences be damned.
But as much as she has convinced herself that she isn't heroic, it does not mean she is a villain, either. Hikaru overlooks her own actions and how they were, in fact, those of a true hero in the greater picture. In combating the Primal threat and the Garlean Empire's activities, and dealing with a number of other looming crises, Hikaru did indeed labor for the betterment of Eorzea and the star as a whole. Even with her dispassion towards the liberation her homeland, she was at the forefront of the operation to free Ala Mhigo. And that is to say nothing of her greatest achievement as the Warrior of Light thus far: the prevention of the Final Days that would have otherwise seen the world consumed by Despair's song. While her persona does not immediately telegraph "hero," her actions definitely do.
In "Thirty One Stars," Hikaru is approached by a server at the Bismarck while she and Numair are finishing their meal. The server brings a small lava cake, saying that the restaurant owner is a fan and insisted that Hikaru have the cake as a birthday treat. When Numair takes notices of Hikaru's discomfort at the attention, he asks what is so unnerving about receiving praise and recognition. Hikaru's answer is telling of both her inability to perceive herself as being heroic, and also of her chronic self-deprecation:
"It was never about glory or fame. I was never in it to become a household name. I just wanted to ensure that everyone would live to see tomorrow. I am no hero. I'm just some woman with a fancy-ass sword. That's all there is to it."

Hikaru says all of that, completely ignoring the loyalty she inspired, especially among her closest allies, and even moreso, the man about to confess his love to her. If her tendency to downplay and discredit herself weren't immediately made obvious before, her response to Numair's confession a couple hours later makes it impossible to ignore. Her first instinct is to dissuade Numair, labeling herself as "broken" and "likely to disappoint," and insisting that she is nothing like the inspiring heroic figure that others believe her to be.
It is not until the end of Patch 6.5, when Hikaru has a near-death experience after encountering Zeromus, in which she is finally able to internalize the feelings of loyalty and appreciation shown to her over the years. In her subconscious "Garden of Memory," Hikaru is made to listen to numerous testimonies about the impact she's had as both the Warrior of Light and as a person, and for the first time she cannot bring herself to deny or refute such sentiments. Not only was she able to accept that she was a hero on the grander scale, but also that she was a hero to the people closest to her.
The woman from Gyr Abania

Hikaru's carriage got stopped a short distance from Ul'dah's gates, with the Brass Blades having been called in to deal with an Amalj'aa raiding party. Not content to wait on the matter to be resolved, Hikaru drew her sword and jumped into the fray.
"I'm already in a bad mood because I missed my stop. Now I'm sweating like a pig and you bastards are keeping me from getting out of this desert hellscape and finding some shade!"
Even the Brass Blades footmen wisely chose not to attempt ushering Hikaru back into the carriage, as she routed the Amalj'aa brigands without their help. The raid leader made the fatal mistake of addressing Hikaru as a "little girl with a knife," earning him a boot to the groin and a sword in his belly.
Word about Hikaru's scuffle with the Amalj'aa reached the Gladiators' Guild before she even arrived to enroll there, with the guild leader Mylla wondering aloud if she was the "firebrand who groinkicked an Amalj'aa ringleader." Without even bothering to test Hikaru's skill, Mylla immediately granted her entry.
But while Hikaru (somewhat) appreciated the additional training that filled in the few gaps in her technique, she soon became tired of the social dramatics within the guild roster itself, grumbling out of earshot that this is one of many reasons she wanted to get away from Gyr Abania. Hikaru found an opportunity to duck out of one such blowout between Mylla and her on-again-off-again lover Aldis, having heard rumors about a pink-haired Lalafell who resembled the current Sultana and figured that looking into that would no doubt be more amusing (or at the very least, less exhausting) than watching a couple of her fellow guildsmen arguing.
Paladin, Interrupted
The Extended continuity discards nearly all of the canon FFXIV job stories, with Paladin being the biggest divergence.
Shortly before the events leading up to the Titan encounter, Hikaru is passed a letter from one of Nanamo's retainers, one instructing her to seek out Captain Jenlyns of the Sultansworn and to present the letter as an endorsement from the Sultana herself so that Hikaru may be trained as a free Paladin. As it would happen, the outgoing leader of the Sultansworn delighted at the chance to train the up-and-coming Warrior of Light as his final student.
But when Hikaru went to meet Solkzagyl at the cave the Roegadyn often meditated in, she found him lying dead in a pool of his own blood, the dagger still embedded in his neck. Curiously, Solkzagyl was still holding the Paladin soul crystal, and so Hikaru took it back with her to Ul'dah to report the murder. Jenlyns conferred with others in the Sultansworn leadership and relayed that, regrettably, Hikaru's promised training would be put on hold while Solkzagyl's murder was being investigated, but she would be allowed to keep the soul crystal as it was empty and thus had little value.
During the operation to rescue the kidnapped Scions in Castrum Centri, Hikaru was mistaken for a recently-conscripted quartermaster, and given a copy of the passcode for the armory. As this was supposed to be a stealth operation, Hikaru did not bring her sword and shield, believing they would give her away, and thus she would have to find a new weapon on-site. She happened upon Castrum Centri's Foreign Armaments Containment, where she would suddenly hear a female voice calling out to her through her mind. The disembodied voice assured her that she was not a ghost, and beckoned her to approach the containment pod that held a gold-accented sword and shield. Learning that the voice was coming from inside the shield, and that the shield was once the ancient Ivalician Holy Knight Agrias Oaks, Hikaru used her passcode to open the containment pod and took the sword and shield for herself. When touching them, Hikaru formed a spiritual connection with Agrias, one that relays Hikaru's vision and hearing, and in turn achieving greater control of Light.

In gratitude for being released from centuries of isolation, Agrias offered to instruct Hikaru in Ivalician Holy Swordplay, especially after hearing about what happened with Hikaru's interrupted free Paladin training. Agrias determined that the swordplay practiced by the Sultansworn and Ishgard's Temple Knights are modernized iterations of the swordplay used by Ivalice's knights, and that Hikaru would benefit from her mentorship. As Agrias works to recover her memories, she remembers more of her own training as a Holy Knight and relays it to Hikaru in the form of the replacement job quest chain "Brave Story."
Before the events of Operation Archon are set in motion, Hikaru's presence was requested in Ul'dah by the Sultansworn, who claim to have new information regarding Solkzagyl's murder. The meeting turned out to be a pretense for Nanamo to present Hikaru with a gift: a full suit of Gallant armor, normally issued to high-ranking Sultansworn. In explaining the reasoning, both Nanamo and Papashan said that even without being a proper Paladin, Hikaru's deeds embody the true spirit and intent of one nonetheless. Hikaru herself is doubtful, saying she is hardly Paladin material, especially compared to the likes of the Sultansworn and the Temple Knights. She also learned that the empty Paladin soul crystal she obtained (and had since turned into a necklace) was a prototype learning model, meant to take in newer styles of swordplay in addition to conveying the wisdom of past Paladins.

Kiros - the brother from another shard
Kiros is Hikaru's mutually-adopted brother from the First. In large-scale encounters, he is Hikaru's default co-tank, taking over from Hamilton upon recruitment. Among the rest of the party members, he is typically second-in-command and shares the position with Numair as of Patch 6.4.
Hikaru acquired the Gunbreaker job from Kiros at the end of Shadowbringers.
Hikaru, who is biologically an only child, didn't know what it was like to have a sibling, but the two ended up forming a bond that could best be described as familial. Kiros even accidentally called her "sister" a few times before asking to properly call her such at the end of Patch 5.3, and then asked to come to the Source with her.

Numair - the cherished connection
Numair is Hikaru's lover, introduced through Kiros in Patch 5.45. When Hikaru made plain her weariness of those who only perceive her as the Warrior of Light, Numair made a concerted effort to know the actual person behind that title and decided he preferred Hikaru the flawed woman.
In the Patch 6.3 story "Thirty One Stars," Numair confessed to Hikaru on her 31st nameday, having conspired with Violetta to lure Hikaru away from House Dragonia long enough to prepare a surprise party. In "Twice Attempted," Numair was the last push needed for Hikaru to overcome her sex and attachment phobia.
"Ringbearer" in Dawntrail postgame is about the two becoming engaged and the preparations for their wedding.

Agrias - the timeless knight
Agrias is the former leading Holy Knight of Ivalice, her soul having been stuffed into the Aegis Shield several centuries ago. She is Hikaru's Paladin job trainer in the Extended continuity's replacement of the job's storyline, imparting her knowledge of Ivalician Holy Swordplay while recalling her memories of journeying with her era's Warrior of Light.
Agrias regards Hikaru as a close friend on the same level as Princess Ovelia, and at the end of the Return to Ivalice raids, chose to remain a part of the Aegis Shield rather than return to the Lifestream.

Ardbert - the timeless warrior
Ardbert is a warrior from the First, originally appearing as an enemy during Heavensward postgame. The Extended continuity makes his status as a shard unclear, instead having him become the spiritual occupant of Excalibur rather than rejoin with Hikaru. Ardbert even said that swords are not his area of expertise when he agreed to become Excalibur's soul.
His influence causes a number of Hikaru's defensive abilities to change and become a hybrid of Paladin and Warrior's mitigation.

Yoshi - the first comrade
Yoshi is Hikaru's first long-term ally, initially assigned as her Scion partner during A Realm Reborn. Though Hikaru saw her as an unwanted presence and would rather have tackled her missions alone, she comes to appreciate her skill with magic.
Their friendship is a bit one-sided at times, with Yoshi being the more eager and enthusiastic of the two. In Stormblood, Hikaru noted that Yoshi's presence often makes her reflect on her own feelings and attitude towards being perceived as a woman.

Hamilton - the unflappable everyman
Hamilton is a career Immortal Flames soldier, having met Hikaru during the Ifrit encounter when the two are unaffected by the Primal's tempering flames. He assisted Hikaru a number of times thereafter before becoming a long-term party member in Stormblood. Hikaru acquired the Red Mage job from him when the two investigated a number of Primal resummonings.
Until Kiros' recruitment in Shadowbringers, Hamilton is the default co-tank in large-scale battles.
Hikaru counts Hamilton among the very few people who don't routinely get on her nerves and is actually quite normal.

Kupo - the disguised Moogle
Kupo is a Twelveswood Moogle, the only one of his kind to have the Echo. In A Realm Reborn postgame, Hikaru rescued him from being used as a vessel for a Mooglesguard ritual to summon Good King Moggle Mog XII. When Kupo realized his fellow Moogles actually despised him for being a whistleblower, he fought alongside Hikaru to stop them.
In Heavensward, Kupo served as part of Kan-E-Senna's escort to the Churning Mists, but asked to join the party when an Echo vision showed him that Yoshi had survived the Calamity and had joined up with Hikaru.
Kupo is the first person Hikaru invited to live at House Dragonia.

Faris - the whimsical summoner
Faris is an Immortal Flames summoner Hikaru met during Extended's take on the Stormblood summoner job quests. When he was dropped off at House Dragonia a couple weeks after, Hikaru begrudgingly took him in. The Sephirot Tree on her lawn has never known peace since.
Faris constructed a massive ice cream repository underneath House Dragonia (at Hikaru's expense). A magic door in his room connects to the vault.

M'rehl - the pun-slinging shinobi
M'rehl is a wandering ninja who Hikaru met during Stormblood postgame in "Pungeon Master." The two actually met as children, when Rei and Hikaru stayed at the Peering Stones for a time, and a rambunctious Miqo'te boy invited Hikaru to play by means of puns. They were so bad that Hikaru consciously scrubbed the memory from her mind.
Hikaru acquired the Ninja job from him.
In Dawntrail, M'rehl became a long-term party member, and continued making Hikaru and her allies groan from his horrible puns.

Rei - the returned mother
Rei is Hikaru's mother, having disappeared about a decade before the events of A Realm Reborn. Hikaru recalls her as being especially fearful and paranoid about being found by the Garlean Empire's rebel-hunters. In Endwalker, Rei turned up at Camp Broken Glass, having escaped from the supermax prison she had been in while the party broke into the Tower of Babil.
Her drastic change of personality (actually what she was originally like before witnessing her husband's murder) made it difficult for Hikaru to accept her. But Rei isn't discouraged by the rejection and is determined to make up for lost time. In "Myths of the Realm," Rei pesters Hikaru into allowing her to come along, and in Dawntrail she accompanies the party to Tural after befriending Wuk Lamat.

Molulu - the fledgeling counselor
Molulu is Hikaru's therapist, introduced in Endwalker postgame. A newcomer in the field, she opened a practice in Lower La Noscea and is surprised to find the Warrior of Light among her first clients.
She helped Hikaru uncover the origin of her sex phobia, and determined that what Hikaru actually fears is attachment. Molulu also helped Hikaru deal with the difficulties involved with her mother's sudden reappearance after having thought to be dead.

Kestine - the prickly retainer
Kestine is a mercenary who sometimes works with the Immortal Flames, and only takes orders from Hikaru. He is a temporary party member during the later parts of A Realm Reborn and the first half of its postgame. Hikaru acquires the Dark Knight job from him as the first instance of her Job Gleaning mechanic.
In Heavensward postgame, Kestine is hired as the doorman at House Dragonia. He also accompanied the party for most of the base Dawntrail campaign.

Alisaie - the fiery Scion
Alisaie is the one Scion that Hikaru ever closely bonds with, and was the first to see Hikaru's mask slip. In Heavensward postgame, she was witness to Hikaru's true persona when fighting some Kobolds, but was so amused by the sight that she realized she liked this "foul-mouthed Hikaru" a lot more than the one who smiled and nodded and went along with what others wanted.
In Endwalker, Alisaie is pleased when Hikaru ditches her public mask for good and begins behaving more authentically. In Patch 6.4, Alisaie smirks knowingly when Hikaru brings Numair along for the Red Moon Operation, demanding to know the full story of their pairing.

Aurica - the likeminded engineer
Aurica is a Garlond Ironworks engineer that Hikaru met in late Heavensward but ran into again during postgame. Much like Alisaie, Aurica also preferred the "unmasked" Hikaru over the PR-friendly version, and made herself available for whatever mechanical or materia-related tasks that Hikaru needed done. In Endwalker, Aurica accompanied the party as a noncombatant, though in Dawntrail she was more willing to jump into the fray. Hikaru acquired the Machinist job through her.
Aurica insists she will one day convince Hikaru to go drinking, and frequently jabs her about her taste in men as of "Thirty One Stars."

Merlwyb - the neighborly admiral
Admiral Merlwyb was surprised to learn that Hikaru had chosen to live in Limsa Lominsa's Mist district but happily welcomed the Warrior of Light as a resident all the same. When the Lunar Whale is discovered, Merlwyb insists that Hikaru keep the vessel rather than have the Maelstrom seize it, saying the Warrior of Light ought to have a proper ship of her own.
In Patch 6.55, Merlwyb personally pens an order declaring that, as gratuity for preventing the Final Days and a potential invasion from the Thirteenth, Hikaru is exempt from paying property taxes.

Hikaru is an All-Rounder; she is capable of assuming any role and job as needed. That said, the events of Extended assume, with some exceptions, that Hikaru is participating as a Paladin. She has a unique method of obtaining most other jobs, known as Job Gleaning; over time, she is able to pick up on another's methods of fighting and emulate them herself. Should she meet someone whose job she already possesses, Hikaru will instead acquire one of their unique skills.
Her Dragon of Light trait gives her reduced damage against "special" entities (Primals, Ascians and other metaphysically unusual entities). At the end of base Endwalker, it evolves to give her a single Reraise during most battles.
Late into A Realm Reborn, she acquires Excalibur and the Aegis Shield, which become her scalable Paladin weapons.
Her interpretation of the Paladin job is an eclectic meld of Ivalician Holy Swordplay, the swordplay she was taught as a child, and the instruction she was given during her time at the Gladiators' Guild. A number of her offensive abilities are renamed and styled after Holy Swordplay abilities used in Final Fantasy Tactics; for instance, Confiteor is replaced with Hallowed Bolt, where Goring Blade is replaced with Northswain's Strike. After base Shadowbringers, some of her defensive abilities change to incorporate some of Warrior's mitigation.
Because Hikaru does not obtain the majority of her Paladin job abilities the conventional way, there are several instances in which she had to improvise.
Two such instances are in the form of her Limit Breaks.
Dragonia is Hikaru's offensive Limit Break, an original feat of swordplay reminiscent of past rapid-slash attacks such as Omnislash and Blitz Ace. She uses it for the first time during the Ifrit encounter, although its name is shown as ??? if used beforehand. After obtaining Excalibur and the Aegis Shield, Dragonia becomes Light-aspected. After defeating the Phantasmal Holy Knight in the Orbonne Monastery, Dragonia evolves into Light Dragon Ruination, which integrates much of Agrias' Divine Ruination as part of the sequence. Dragonia/Light Dragon Ruination is contingent on Hikaru's tank stance (Iron Will) being inactive, though this is not enforced until her defensive Limit Break is created.
Invincible Star is Hikaru's defensive Limit Break, and is a replacement of both Hallowed Ground and the stock tank/Paladin Limit Breaks, invented during the Stone Vigil. When Isgebind swats Hikaru aside and charges at Alphinaud, Hikaru rushes to intercept, her desire to protect manifesting in the form of a star-shaped aether crystal that she crushed in her hand, making herself invulnerable for a short time. The Rank 3 variant spreads the protection to the entire party, albeit at a lesser potency. Invincible Star is contingent on Hikaru's tank stance being active.
Among her other jobs and roles, Hikaru's second strongest is White Mage. Unbeknownst to her, she inherited her magical aptitude from her father, a skilled healer for the Resistance and one of the few Ala Mhigan Highlanders with significant affinity with using healing magicks. Though Hikaru uses an artificial White Mage soul crystal and never had any direct instruction in conjury, she was able to get a solid grasp on it after a few hours of experimentation. The aesthetic of her White Mage spells are based on how they appear in Final Fantasy Tactics.
