So… Halloween is over.

And, well, I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving, really. Too much family drama to really be worth it. At least with Christmas, I have the added bonus of an awesome build-up via house lights and the general environment of the season. Oh, that will be REALLY nice with the Yoshi Car… whenever I want, I can just go sit in Montclair Plaza or something and just SOAK it up. That’s right, I’m Yoshi and I fully approve of commercialized Christmas because it’s freaking pretty! :P (This, of course, also means I will have to spam “Antidote” from FFT like crazy.)

So, um… on the artwork side of things, I think I might forego even bothering with a Thanksgiving pic (since all I can really come up with are variations on Velan and Old Lady Kit blowing up the kitchen), unless someone comes along with a freaking hilarious idea for a pic… it’d have to be one of those “ohgod, this must be done or ELSE” things. Otherwise, plan on Snowschemes starting up earlier this year; everybody wins since this of course means there will be more of them.

That said, I should also throw together that speculated Election Day Brawl pic. But, how should that go…? Hmm.

Clearly, it has been anything but spooky for this year’s Halloween. :P If anything, it’s been lots and lots of cute! o_o
Why yes, I somehow managed to satisfy the demand for both Duxx AND Chelsea. Ah, the power of Ninja Nekokoneko! Give them all treats or, well, I think they’ll wear you down with their mewing.
(Poor Hikaru, I think she’s just overloaded with the sheer cuteness of the whole thing that she’s at a loss for words.)

Speaking of treats… I think this is one of those rare moments in which I either actually smell something or THINK I do. (Believe it or not, it happens… often, it’s the scent of garlic bread, yet the source is actually meat loaf or something completely unrelated.) I must investigate. >_>

Chelsea gets the classic pink Chiyo-kitty suit (with added back ribbon, so certain pigheads don’t think it’s Kit) and Hikaru’s will be purple-tinted.

Also… holy crap, it sprinkled today. o.O Though, there are reports it may rain tomorrow. That would be nice, seeing as I like rain… but I imagine it would make many people unhappy since it would be a total downer on the grant plot to go loot candy. :P

In other news… with the evil stepfather retired, I don’t have to actually head to the library until about 4:30. Much as I like having those couple of hours where I don’t even have to think about wiggly puppies or raging drama queens or what have you (out of sight, out of mind!), it’s also nice to not wake up at noon and be all “OH CRAP MUST GET READY NOOOOW” and such. (Of course, I should probably not be sleeping in to noon as is…) Of course, all this is out the window as of Tuesday. Maybe. >_>;

Ah, here comes Kestine to claim his napping spot next to the window. Silly orange furball…

I’ll say it now, anyone who claims I don’t know the value of money can go jump in a lake.

So… PETS ARE EXPENSIVE. Well, I knew that going in, of course… and I think mother FORGOT that, since it seems my assuming all the vet and insurance expenses was really what enabled her to go expanding the pet population as much as she did.

The English puppies went in for their first screening/vaccine wave today. Also, this month’s bill for pet insurance hit. And then I had to enroll the English puppies on the pet insurance policy. Total for all of that stuff put together… nearly $530. Ow.

BUT, as I said earlier, I don’t let mother go free… she has to reimburse me too. And she also has to pay back all the vet fees incurred until the policy kicks in. (Ah, Wells Fargo customer-to-customer transfers. LOVE.) I’m getting $500 of today’s total bill back. The remaining 30 is for Kestine’s part of the insurance, which I eat because, well, he’s my cat, so while I certainly could be mean and make mother reimburse me for that too, it’d be just a TAD excessive to do it. :P

True, 500 is chump change compared to the $8k total that mother plunked on getting all four dogs, but still… while keeping my bank account from springing a gigantic leak is nice, I think it’s the satisfaction of telling mother “PAY UP, WOMAN” that’s the best part.
